Sarah Manely has been promoted at Burberry Yesterday
(NEW YORK) Sarah Manley, Burberry’s senior vice president of marketing and communications, has been promoted to the company’s chief marketing officer, effective today, announced Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts. In her new position, Manley will oversee all public relations, marketing, communications and advertising for the brand in both the “traditional sphere” and in digital media, according to a release. "Over the last 9 years at Burberry, Sarah's close partnership with Christopher Bailey, Burberry chief creative cfficer, and innovative evolution of the global marketing team, have been instrumental in building the brand’s brilliant marketing platform that we have recently begun to leverage,” said Ahrendts. “Sarah is one of the most strategic, insightful, connected marketing executives in the industry today."
Before joining Burberry in 2001, Manley served as a public relations and advertising exec at luxury e-commerce site Luxlook.com. Prior to that, Manley helmed the PR and advertising departments in the U.K. for Yves Saint Laurent and Polo Ralph Lauren. In her new position, Manley will report directly to Ahrendts, who was recently named one of Forbes’ 100 most powerful women in the world. Keu members of her team in the U.K include Justin Cooke, VP of PR, Jenna Littler, director of corporate relations, Fred Uribe, VP of marketing, and Adam Shapiro, PR manager for continental Europe. George Kolasa continues to spearhead Burberry's PR activities in the United States.
