SPRING/SUMMER 2011
CHLOE

Hannah McGibbon, at the helm of the Chloè label, confirms her prediliction for elegance and grace, with essential pure lines that don't cover up a woman's femininity. This collection looks again at the themes she holds dear: sportswear elements, utilitarian style and pieces from a "boyfirend's closest" are mixed with other, more exquisitely feminine pieces of light, airy transparencies. The result is a controlled kind of energy, and a modern freshness
Lengths:
the designer Hannah MCGibbon should be given due credit for being among the first to present the ultra-long lengths that are so popular in the next seasons. Skirts either hit at the knee or reach down to the floor a palette of skin tones (beige make-up, blush, nude), and touches of red shades (sandalwood, petal, blush) and burned tones (amber, terracotta, nutmeg) are alternated with brighter contrasts like emerald, red lacquer and garnet. Basic colours are ivory, optical white and black
Fabrics:
wool, silk crêpe, silk jersey, tulle (also decorated with feathers) soft nappa, cotton poplin, piqué, embroidered tweeds
Shapes:
the silhoette is very tailored and precise with outerwear in more substantial fabrics; thin trousers with bodysuits; flared skirts with bows at the waist, A-lines for blouses and skirts, or else ruffled or in crunchy cotton poplin. As a contrast, there are ballerina dresses with small busts and long, draped skirts in transparent fabrics like pleated chiffon, tulle, silk jersey
Accessories:
flat sandals with ankle straps, ballerinas, sandals with medium heels in metal and graphic ankle straps. Small bags and rectangular clutches
