SPRING/SUMMER 2011
VIKTOR & ROLF

the invite to the show, designed by the illustrator Piet Paris, refigures a stylized hand that comes out of a pure white shirt cuff. And “Shirt Symphony” is the title of Viktor & Rolf’s collection presented in Paris, a single-minded and masterful slant of the classic masculine white shirt, transformed into infinite versions by the Dutch duo’s surreal fantasy. From the first exit, a shirt with multiple collars and cuffs, until the grand finale of voluminous and theatrical wedding gowns, constructed with “half-shirts”, assembled in an engineer-like manner, the fashion show confirms an unstoppable inspiration and an ever-surprising vision that in this season is embellished by a fresher, lighter, and more playful glamour
