Babeth’s Paris Feast: Dining With Karl, Giamba, Haider!
Not on the menu but certainly cause for discussion: designers Karl Lagerfeld, Giambattista Valli, and Haider Ackermann were the stars of the night on Sunday, holding court at legendary French fashion editor Babeth Djian’s annual charity dinner for the Association AEM, giving relief to children in need in Rwanda.
“It’s very hard to make people come to a dinner on a Sunday night---I am always afraid no one is coming!” sighed Djian, who had nothing to worry about as faithful fashion friends like Audrey Marnay, Eva Cavalli, Peter Dundas, Delphine Arnault, Kris Van Assche, and Alexis Mabille were ushered into the Espace Pierre Cardin by Monsieur Cardin himself.
Lagerfeld, whom Djian admitted “hates dinners like this,” was seated to her right, looking on as Margherita Maccapani Missoni won a crocodile Balenciaga bag in the charity raffle organized by French television hostMademoiselle Agnès and fashion DJ Ariel Wizman.
After dinner, guests like Lou Doillon, Josephine de La Baume, and Dior jewelry designer Camille Miceli milled about, as Wizman took to the mixing board. The room happily abuzz with fashion talk, mainly news that fellow guest, French actress Léa Seydoux, was about to be announced as the new face for a yet unnamed fragrance at Prada. Stay tuned!
