It's not just about having celebrities in the front row. The fashion houses fight over top models too. Those who thought supermodels were passé, and that today we're left with just "models", should rethink. The trophy goes to Prada: during the show that took place in via Fogazzaro, two Victoria Secret Angels plus two of the most-expensive models in the world, were wearing Miuccia Prada's F/W 2010-2011 designs: the Brazilian Alessandra Ambrosio, 29, and the Dutch Doutzen Kroes, 25.

To close the show we also had: Miranda Kerr, Australian, 27; the Dutch supermodel Lara Stone; Lindsey Wixson, the face on the SS 2010 Miu Miu advert, and Samantha Gradoville, 20 years old, from Nebraska. All of them are very famous, both within the industry and beyond; some have appeared on the Pirelli Calendar. Gucci had on its catwalk: Anna Selezneva, 20, Russian, already seen as the testimonial of "Elle", Yves Saint Laurent's perfume, and Ella Drake, 19, from New Zealand. Max Mara had the exclusive on Diana Dondoe, from Romania, from the 2005 Pirelli Calendar. The trend of having a top model exclusively to yourself goes beyond the boundaries of Milan's Fashion Week: back in New York, Calvin Klein demanded Tanga Moreau, the Belgian supermodel, already testimonial for Ralph Lauren's perfume "Romance - and Jil Sander's fragrance "Jil".
