Graziano de BoniGiorgio Armani has announced the appointment of Graziano de Boni as chief executive officer of Giorgio Armani Corporation, effective January 10, 2011. He replaces Bruno Laguardia, who is leaving the company. “The appointment of Graziano de Boni underlines our commitment and strategic focus on the continued growth of the U.S. market,” said Armani in a statement, directly contradicting an erronious report in today’s New York Post that Armani “no longer views America as a strategic priority.” De Boni will be based in New York and he will report directly to Livio Proli, managing director and general manager of Giorgio Armani SpA.

Most recently, de Boni served as president of Reed Krakoff at the Coach Group. He was recruited to that position while serving as president and CEO of Prada USA. De Boni spent the bulk of his 30-year career at Valentino Fashion Group, where he first helmed Hugo Boss' U.S. business, and then Valentino's.
