Nicole Richie and her rocker beau Joel Madden are now husband and wife, after tying the knot in front of about 130 relatives and close friends on December 11. The ceremony, which took place at the lavish Los Angeles estate of Nicole's musician father Lionel Richie, had a guest list that included Joel's twin brother Benji Madden, Samantha Ronson, and Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale. But there was one guest who really stood out - an elephant, which was spotted being led toward the property's tents ahead of the evening ceremony. What role the elephant played in the wedding has yet to be revealed, but reports suggest that the rest of the romantic evening leaned more toward the traditional.Nicole wore a gown by Marchesa for her nuptials, and the couple of four years exchanged rings by Neil Lane. The ceremony was officiated by Run-DMC rapper-turned-minister Reverend Run. "Joel and Nicole have looked up to Rev. Run, so they wanted him to officiate," says a wedding guest. "They both appreciate his family values and he is an inspiration for both. They both also respect his faith, too."
Nicole, 29, and Joel, 31, announced their engagement in February. They have two children together: two-year-old daughter Harlow (who was a flower girl at the ceremony), and son Sparrow, 15 months.
