Hosted by Jay Jopling and Nichola Jones, in the warm air of the night, it's immediately clear from the small group of people who get lost in chit-chat on the stairs that after the opening, today, of a beautiful edition of Design Miami and some parties at the Design District, the art world with all its "types" is involving everyone here.

To enter you have to get a pass from the Soho House, the recently opened branch of the New York club for "members only", without which you can't even get close to the elevators. Once you get up two floors, long halls, with walls covered in bronzed boards, lead to a bar crowded with typical ladies from South Beach and waiters with checkered shirts and overalls ready to serve streams of alcohol on the night and its guests, among whom collector Guido Orsi and dealer Helly Nahmad. You recognize immediately the gallery managers with shirt and jeans, the satisfied Francesca Kaufmannand Chiara Repetto, the most lucky ones have just left the fair, which will open its doors to the public tomorrow morning at 11 am (event that usually is very similar to the competitive starting point of a race), while others finish the set up, judging from the lights that were on until very late at the Convention Center.

Trying to bite what was probably the first food of the evening, keeping your glass of wine in one hand and greeting an old friend, you risk of being overwhelmed by the photographer's flashes because those sitting down, among whom collector and art lover Davide Blei, are part of the Guggenheim board, and the photographer is from the New York Times. For those that don't love shrimp, oysters and lobsters, next to the bar where video artist Marco Brambilla is sitting, who will open a big installation in 3D (with glasses designed by Armani) at the Standard of André Balazs who navigates his way through the crow around the pool, there's the smoke from the big grill filled with every type of meat.

Last solution is to enjoy oneself like the future world of art does, Andrea Dellal and Vito Schnabel, enjoying the tropical climate, getting swept away by the flowing of alcohol and chit-chat prepared deliberately for you and wait for tomorrow to start the race.
