Paris – When launching her first eponymous luxury cashmere collection, Claudia Schiffer hid her enviable curves under a loose fitting dress with slight bat sleeves. Keen to be viewed as a designer, the natural looking super model immediately zeroed in on the “effortless elegance” of her styles. Her essentially daywear collection is based on her working mother lifestyle which stems from having “15 minutes to dress in the morning before dropping off the kids and then going to a meeting”. “I always need something which is not too dressy or sexy and can be worn with boots and or jeans”, she says.
The collection’s 30 pieces which include classic granddad cardigans, tubular dresses, swing cape jumpers, boyfriend style sweater dresses and oversized hand knitted and come in Schiffer’s favorite colors – “earth tones, midnight blue, charcoal gray and black” - are manufactured by Iris von Arnim (IvA), the luxury German cashmere label. “It took eighteen months to make and I tried everything on”, says Schiffer. “I was basically someone who knew nothing but learnt a lot, along the way”.
