SPRING/SUMMER 2011
Damir Doma
Mood/style:
the focus was on the feminine waist for Damir Doma’s second womenswear collection, with models offering glimpses of well-defined torsos in racerback cropped tanks and sheer blouses paired with skirts whose waistline hit high above the navel. Large side buckled saddle belts in beige and black further accentuated midriffs, and long sheer dresses adhered to the waist with skinny ribbons knotted into bows. Silhouettes were forgiving and ethereal, and the dominant colors of orange and yellow represented spirituality viewed through the lens of Asian culture
Colours:
black, saffron yellow, sorbet orange, beige, aureolin, lemon
Lengths:
shorts were thigh length. Tops were cropped just below the bust. Jackets were hip length. Gowns were ankle and thigh length. Nip waist roomy trousers tapered at the ankle. Coats were knee length
Fabrics:
polished and woven cotton, cashmere silk, jersey, chiffon
Shapes:
asymmetric knee length skirts. Straight cut vests and jackets. Crop tops were fashioned out of square swaths of fabrics. Belts created hourglass shapes out of free flowing chiffon
Accessories:
wide belts in onyx and tan. Cone heeled sandals in brown, gray, and black. Silver bangles. Stacked cuffs in marigold
