Fatima Lopes SS 2011 Review

Posted by ElenaPearl
SPRING/SUMMER 2011

FATIMA LOPES

Mood/style:

this is surely a collection that focuses on experimenting new cuts and proportions, elaborated through a rather neutral color palette that shifts also towards brighter hues. Shapes are at times sculpture-like and tailored especially for shoulders and necklines but there is also room for more floaty fabrics and soft volumes. Draperies, pleats, ruffles, gatherings, bat-wing sleeves, asymmetry: all is employed to investigate into new shapes featuring a strongly contemporary allure, at times futuristic, where combinations of matching textures prevail

Lengths:
mini and maxi

Colours:
sable, cream, ivory, white, peach, powder, aquamarine, pastel green, nude, ice, fuchsia, red, purple, light blue

Fabrics:
leather, silk, organza, Lycra, stones, taffeta, cotton, chiffon, satin, beads, lurex

Shapes:
ultra-slim, straight and tapered, or ample and flared, bell-shaped

Accessories:
lace-up open-toe booties with plateau, patterned embellishments in the hair, opalescent tights with bead décor, platform sandals and ankle straps, flat or geometric clutches
