With this Ink, I thee wed ----

Posted by ElenaPearl
When a celebrity romance ends and the assets are divided, they're often left with a permanent reminder of their ex-a tattoo!
While saying "I do" is certainly a big commitment, an often-disastrous phenomenon, embraced by several celebrities, is tattooing their significant other's names on their bodies. The most recent example of the permanent gesture is Eva Longoria and her recently estranged husband Tony Parker. The former couple, who announced their split thismonth after three years of marriage, decided that exchanging rings just wasn't enough, and had their wedding date inked in Roman numerals on different parts of their bodies. Longoria also opted to have basketball star Parker's jersey number "Nine" inked onto the back of her neck.

In the seemingly ancient B.P. (before Pitt) era,Angelina Jolie was married to Billy Bob Thorntonfor three years, until 2003. So solid seemed their romance that Jolie tattooed "Billy Bob" onto her arm, while Thornton opted for "Angie" on a mushroom on his right calf. Since going their separate ways, Jolie made efforts to laser off the tattoo, before inking over it with the coordinates of the birthplaces of her six children. Billy Bob converted his to an angel.

Britney Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline are another former couple reported to have once visited the tattoo parlor together. Their option: his-and-hers pink-and-blue dice inked onto their flesh respectively.

And who could forget Amy Winehouse tattooing "Blake" - for her ex-hubby Blake Fielder-Civil - on her already heavily marked body? Her ex returned the gesture, but alas, their romance is no more.

Also out of love, but left with lasting impressions, are Marilyn Manson andEvan Rachel Wood, who got matching black hearts one happy Valentine's Day.

When Charlie Sheen's marriage to Denise Richards ended after four years, Sheen had his "Denise" tattoo lasered off, while Richards turned her "Charlie" into a fairy.

Preceding all of those relationships was Johnny Depp's romance with Winona Ryder, which ended in 1993 after four years. Expressing his devotion to the actress, he had "Winona Forever" inked onto his arm. But, as fate would have it, the relationship was not eternal, and his bodily decoration was later edited to read "Wino Forever".

The simple lesson learned in this exercise would perhaps be to approach the realm of romantic tattoos with caution. But in the celebrity world, when has caution ever been the trend du jour?
