SPRING/SUMMER 2011
ZAC POSEN
Zac Posen held his show at the renowned Westin Hotel, a venue where the legendary Yves Saint Laurent showed for many years. Following in the hallowed footsteps of the celebrated French couturier, Zac offered a new take on evening wear with ostrich flecked floor sweeping cocktail dresses, slashed sarouel trousers in raspberry, high shouldered tweed jackets, and gowns with cut outs, fur, and sheer accents. Laurent made his mark by forging a new way, playing with colors, shapes, and textures. Posen also asserted his talent with a collection of draped, dramatic frocks worn with ombre dyed feathered shrugs and deliciously sheer shifts peppered with purple. To add to the allure of his collection, Posen handpicked some of the world’s most famous models to bring his garments to life. Spied on the catwalk: Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Sessilee Lopez, Coco Rocha, and Crystal Renn. A roster of fashion superstars also filled the front row, including Posen’s mentor, Yohji Yamamoto
