Anna Wintour appears to have solidified her fashion news team under its new director, Mark Holgate. Emily Holt, a longtime veteran of Condé Nast's Fairchild Publications division, has been named fashion news editor at Vogue, reporting directly to Holgate. Her first day was Monday, December 6. Most recently, Holt served as eye editor for WWD; she held the same title at W until the departure of Patrick McCarthy (and subsequent separation of W and WWD staffs) in March 2010.
Holt began her career in 2004 as an accessories reporter at WWD before moving over to the eye desk in 2005. She was named eye editor in 2007 and spearheaded the editorial content of WWD Scoop, the glossy quarterly covering parties, personalities, and the global fashion scene. She is a native of Los Gatos, California and holds a master's degree in journalism from NYU.
