The Regal Shoot

Posted by ElenaPearl
A Regal ShootSince announcing their engagement, Prince William and Kate Middleton's every move has been deemed buzzworthy in the press. So it's only fitting that the man selected to shoot their official engagement portrait is a world-renowned photographer, with much regal experience. Mario Testino, who also took iconic snapshots of William's late mother Princess Diana, shot the couple for their first official photo. According to reports, the shoot took place last month, shortly after the couple's November 16 engagement announcement. "William is a very photogenic person... self-confident, relaxed, impressive - and so much like his mother", Testino said recently. "I think it comes from a sense of security".

Testino, who has also shot William's younger brother Harry, took pictures of Princess Diana for Vanity Fair in 1997 (the same year that she died). The photographs went on display at London's Kensington Palace in 2005. "[Diana] said to me at the time [that] her children had said to her it was the most her they had seen," Testino has said.

William and Kate plan to exchange nuptials on April 29 at London's Westminster Abbey.
