After months of speculation, and after the success of Sofia Coppola's Somewhere film, Elle Fanning can finally say she found the right project to star in, with her older sister Dakota Fanning (17) as soon as she will be finished wirth the Twilight Saga movies. The project evolves around the real life story of the Shaggs, a '60s family girl-group singing curiosity.
One of the many one-hit wonder groups, The Shaggs were made of 4 sisters from New Hampshire — Dot, Betty, Helen and Rachel Wiggin - and had neither musical inclination nor talent, but formed anyhow, because their father, Austin Wiggin, strongly believed in fate, especially after a palm reader told his wife of the soon to be discovered pre-visioned global success. Altough they were never famous, they had quite a following, and were adored by Frank Zappa who called them "better than the Beatles,"
