Ever thought that high-water pressure could be used to remove excess fat?

Aqua-lipo, the new liposuction technique Made in Usa is less invasive than traditional methods and causes less trauma for the patient who can get back to doing her/his regular activities in about two-three days.



How does it work?



"A concentrated and controlled water jet is inserted underneath the skin by means of a cannula", explains Maurizio Nava, Director of the Plastic and Recostructive Surgery Unit at IRCCS Foundation, Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori (National Institute for Cancer), Milan.



"Replacing the surgeon's massaging movements, the water jet breaks apart fat cells gently but effectively. The cannula is equipped with two internal channels to simultaneously provide water and drain the mixture of liquid and fatty tissue dissolved. What are the benefits? First of all, because it is performed using only local anaesthesia, more than one body parts can be treated during the same session. Besides, according to experimental studies, compared to traditional liposuction methods, Aqua-lipo reduces the trauma to the body by 5 times both during the procedure and the following weeks, it minimizes bruising and swelling, it is quicker but guarantees better results and a higher amount of fat dissolved".



Already performed in some Italian centres, Aqua-lipo is ideal for the treatment of excess fat on most parts of the body although tummy, buttocks, thighs, knees, arms and under the chin are the areas most frequently requested.


The fat drained contains stem cells and can therefore be immediately used to provide a natural breast augmentation, plump up sunken buttocks or filled in to smooth facial lines and wrinkles.
