May I Introduce You? Ginevra Elkann tells a tale of creative talents in the book she presented yesterday in Milan
Yesterday the guest of honor in the suggestive salon of Milan’s Palazzo della Ragione, which once was a courthouse and today hosts some of the most beautiful photography exhibits and retrospectives, was Ginevra Elkann. She was there to present the book May I Introduce You? — A Guide to Creative Talents, which was commissioned by Stefanel and for which she served as editor.
This book not only aims to serve as a guide but as a way of exploring the world of art through her enlightened eyes. Not only has she always been passionate about art and design, Elkann, who lives between Turin and Rome, is the vice president of Turin’s Pinacoteca Agnelli art gallery.
The book includes a wide range of international creative talents whom the heiress to the Agnelli family fortune asked three questions about creativity. The result is an innovative format that aims to discover the personality and philosophy of each person. Thus artists like her friend Leonora Hamill, directors like Babak Jalali, writers like Aatish Taseer, designers like Bella Freud and Christian Louboutin, architects like Bjarke Ingels and business people like her brother Lapo Elkann tell of how they are able to stay ahead of the curve with their work. They testify to their talent and tell of their creativity.
“Because you can recognize talent in the strength of a vision, in the way in which the vision is applied to work, but it’s impossible to measure it,” said Ginevra at the strictly invitation-only event, which was organized in collaboration with Stefanel. Despite the many events and parties tied to the Salone del Mobile furniture show in Milan this week, there was an amazing turnout. Those in attendance included Ginevra’s charming husband, Prince Giovanni Gaetani dell’Aquila d’Aragona and Elkann’s many high-profile friends like Coco Brandolini d'Adda, Margherita Missoni, Virginia Galateri, Franca Sozzani, football champion (and art connoisseur) Jonathan Zebina and his companion Chiara Tortorella, singers Paola and Chiara, television host Giorgia Surina, VJ Paola Maugeri.
